• HAZID & HAZOP Facilitation

No doubt you have projects which will require Hazard Identification sessions irrelevant of the status of the CSM-REA or RIR significance. Through trial and error, we have developed a methodology which is interactive, engaging and effective resulting in a successful workshop.

We encourage free thinking from attendees whilst focusing on our client’s needs. The production of Briefs, Reports and Hazard Records is all part of the service.

  • Project Authorisation Strategy

If your project is significant under Railways Interoperability Regulations you will need to appoint an Approved Body (ApBo). Support in developing and delivering an Authorisation Strategy will most certainly be required to satisfy the ORR and NRAP. As safety specialists, we have extensive experience supporting clients in the production of these documents for the assessment process.

  • System Safety Plan

We are proficient in producing CSM-REA compliant System Safety Plans both at programme level and at project level. These documents can be combined with the Systems Definition (if the client wishes) (Called a Project Authorisation Strategy and System Definition document (PAS-SD)) so that one project level document is created satisfying the requirements of the Regulation.

This approach has been endorsed by NRAP and various Assessment Bodies on several of the projects we have supported.

  • System Definition

Railway Assurance has a proven record in producing CSM-REA compliant System Definitions both at programme level and at project level. These documents can be adapted to satisfy the varying requirements of the different Assessment Bodies.

Using the Network Rail template within NR/L2/RSE/100/02 and the ORR guidance we can provide confidence to our clients that the System Definition will be compliant with the Regulation.

  • Approving Bodies Remit Production

Railway Assurance have been instrumental in the production of remits which have resulted in the procurement of Assessment Bodies, Approved Bodies and Designated Bodies both for projects and major programmes.

It is imperative that the remit produced is developed to satisfy the specific needs of any project or programme. We will be able to extract those needs by collaborating with our clients and ultimately developing a remit which can be tendered to a project or programmes needs.

  • Hazard Records

    The Project Hazard Record is the heart of the CSM-REA assessment and as a result will contain the evidence that is assessed by the Assessment Body (AsBo); this will form the basis of the Safety Assessment Report. We can ensure that your Hazard Record;

    • identifies, details and captures all reasonably foreseeable hazards and the associated competencies

    • Recognizes any hazards that will require formal transfer to a third party for its control

    • clearly identifies in detail the control measures in relation to the chosen risk acceptance principle

    • has the appropriate tools within it to automatically populate the Record specifically regarding responsibilities, risk assessment for being broadly acceptable, post-control assessment etc.

  • Hazard Management Plan

Railway Assurance have a clear process for producing a project specific Hazard Management Plan. All projects will have an effective hazard management activities which aligns with the projects ‘System Definition’ document and manages how compliance is achieved through close collaboration between stakeholders and developed throughout the programme life cycle.

A consistent hazard management approach is adopted for all railway systems and operations activities to achieve the objectives of any project. Railway Assurances uses templates that have been developed specifically for the effective production of the hazard record and the hazard transfer forms recognised throughout the industry.

  • Safety Justification Report

    Safety Justification Report

Our Safety Justification Report provides a one stop collection of evidence that demonstrates and validates the arguments of the system being introduced. This document provides confidence that the system is adequately safe by highlighting the compliance of combined systems for an effective railway application.
